President Obama announced the SelectUSA initiative to showcase the United States as the world’s premier business location and to provide easy access to federal-level programs and services related to business investment. SelectUSA is designed to complement the activities of our states—the primary drivers of economic development in the United States.

Getting Started

SelectUSA highlights the many advantages the United States offers as a location for business and investment.  From a vast domestic market, to a transparent legal system, to the most innovative companies in the world, America is the place for business.  At SelectUSA you can browse business incentives offered by different states and territories.
  2. Contact the Economic/Commercial section at the U.S. Consulate General to discuss your interests and needs.

  • Entrepreneurship 101: Who Is Your Customer?
    Entrepreneurship 101: Who Is Your Customer?

    Free Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) offered. The U.S. Consulate and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) will offer “Entrepreneurship 101: Who Is Your Customer?”  Starting on March 18, participants may take the course at their leisure online at any location, including during regular opening hours at the BEDC.  U.S. Department of State exchange alumnae Erica Smith, Acting Executive Director of the BEDC, will facilitate discussions on course content once every week.  Those wishing to learn about entrepreneurship should enroll online at  and then register with the BEDC at  Course discussions will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on consecutive Tuesdays beginning on March 18, 2014, and ending on April 22, 2014.  The discussions, which are required, will be held in the BEDC Training Room at Sofia House, 48 Church Street in Hamilton.
