Reciprocity Fees

Citizens of some countries are also required to pay a reciprocity fee.  If the visa is approved, the consular officer will inform you if there is a reciprocity fee and how much it will be.  A reciprocity fee is what another country charges a United States citizen for a similar type of visa.  For example, if country X charges U.S. citizens a $50.00 issuance fee, the U.S. will charge citizens of country X the same fee.
