“Saturday: ‘Ask the Consulate’ about Citizenship”

This Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. the U.S. Consulate will take to the airwaves on 98.1 FM with its monthly radio program, “Ask the Consulate.”  KJAZ 98.1 Program Director Marshall Griffith and U.S. Consul Margaret Pride decided to expand the Consulate’s new radio show to 60 minutes after the success of the inaugural program last April.

“Ask the Consulate” is a monthly program, airing on the third Saturday of the month from 10 – 11 a.m.  Past topics have included the so-called ‘stop list’ and May’s visit of the U.S. Navy Band.  June’s topic will be Citizenship and Dual Nationality.

But ultimately, the program is about what the audience wants to know.  The show’s call-in format allows listeners to pose questions to a Consulate officer.

“We are very grateful to KJAZ for the valuable public service they are performing,” says U.S. Consul General Gregory Slayton.  “By inviting us into their studio, they are helping us reach the widest possible audience with this important information. In doing so, they promote the deep bonds of friendship that link the US and Bermuda.”

Listeners who wish to suggest topics for future shows may send an email to the Consulate’s general delivery mailbox at hml.amcongen@state.gov.  In the subject line, please put “Ask the Consulate.”
