Seniors grill US Consul General
Scores of seniors quizzed US Consul General Gregory Slayton on a range of issues, from American foreign policy to passport changes.
Some 75 seniors were at the Bermuda College campus on Thursday, where Mr. Slayton was guest of former Premier Sir John Swan.
The US official spoke on a number of topics, including new US travel regulations which will require passengers flying from Bermuda to the States to carry passports from January.
He also fielded questions from the audience on US foreign policy and the new on-line visa application procedures recently introduced by the US Consulate in Bermuda.
Mr. Slayton said he was impressed by the debate. He added: “Based upon the wit and energy that was evident in the dialogue, it appears to me that Bermuda is truly blessed by its seniors.”
