Saturday: “Ask the Consulate” about
New Appointment-Only System for Consular Services
This Saturday, September 15, at 10 a.m. the U.S. Consulate will take to the airwaves on KJAZ 98.1 FM with its monthly radio program, “Ask the Consulate.”
“Ask the Consulate” is a monthly program airing in a live, call-in format on the third Saturday of each month from 10 – 11 a.m. “Ask the Consulate” enhances existing Consulate services, providing listeners with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues. It will provide information on existing and new regulations and serve as an adjunct to post’s website, http://hamilton.usconsulate.gov.
Past topics have included the so-called stop list, citizenship and dual nationality. The topic this Saturday will be new procedures for consular services. Effective October 1, 2007, Consular services provided at the U.S. Consulate General in Hamilton will be by appointment only. And, appointments must be booked on-line via the Consulate’s website at http://hamilton.usconsulate.gov.
“We are very grateful to KJAZ for the valuable public service they are performing,” says U.S. Consul General Gregory Slayton. “By inviting us into their studio, they are helping us reach the widest possible audience with this important information. In doing so, they promote the deep bonds of friendship that link the US and Bermuda.”
Listeners who wish to suggest topics for future shows may send an email to the Consulate’s general delivery mailbox at hml.amcongen@state.gov. In the subject line, please put “Ask the Consulate.”
The show can also be heard on-line at the KJAZ website, http://www.bdaradio.com/.
